On Saturday August 22nd Stockton Animal Shelter Friends hosted the 10th Annual Strut Your Mutt at Victory Park. This event is held to raise money for SASF, Stockton Animal Shelter Friends. This group takes dogs and cats from our local shelter and finds homes for them, and provides care for them until they are adopted. Many people foster the dogs and cats in their homes; and there is a facility with a cattery on Murray drive. SASF also provided the seed money for the no cost spay and neuter facility at the animal shelter; and is also associated with Old Pals, the off leash dog park association of Stockton.

Strut Your Mutt is a fun event for local canines and their families. The primary event is a walk around Victory Park that was started off by council woman Susan Eggman. There are also several swim sessions in which canines and their owners can frolic in the water together. Contests included the smallest dog, biggest dog, best kisser, owner look alike, best tail wager, a costume contest, and more. Many wonderful items were also raffled. Multiple vendors gathered to take part in the celebration. The animal control booth also provided microchips and licensing.
